Core IT Infrastructure

Renewing and stabilising our core IT infrastructure

We are renewing and stabilising the University's digital technology foundations to deliver connected, secure and reliable IT infrastructure. Much of this work is being implemented through the Digital Infrastructure and Cloud Enablement (DICE) program.

Recent initiatives we've delivered

ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE)

Consolidating IT infrastructure managed by Colleges and Schools

We're consolidating core IT infrastructure managed by Colleges and Schools to enable better management and service delivery of the University’s IT hardware and software to staff and students.

Increasing data storage and improving security

We're migrating files and folders from HomeDrive to Microsoft OneDrive to make file-sharing easier, increase storage, improve accessibility and provide better security.

Students using their laptops

Providing a modern operating environment for ANU devices

From October 2023, ANU staff and students using University-managed desktops and laptops can simply install the Microsoft 365 (M365) application, minimising security risks and help maintain current technology offerings from Microsoft and other technology providers.

What's coming next

We're improving the wireless network across all ANU campuses to allow better access, connectivity and collaboration. We will replace all outdated wireless access points in buildings and residences by mid-2024, eliminating WiFi 'deadspots'.
