We are delivering a better student experience at ANU through simple, personalised processes and digital tools that make it easy to navigate courses, find help and feel connected to our University community.

Promoting digital accessibility

ANU has soared from 20th to 4th place out of 33 organisations in the Australian Network on Disability (AND) maturity model scorecard in just two years. ​In 2023, we conducted over 25 workshops and presentations across the University to promote awareness of digital accessibility. The work in this space continues!

Student journey mapping

As part of Student First, we conducted extensive discovery research to map students’ joy and pain points and identify opportunities to improve their experience at ANU. Using human-centred design, this work involved interviews and workshops with students and staff to inform future design of our learning systems and services.

Web upgrades

In 2023, we upgraded the ANU Tuckwell, Library, Archives and Orientation websites to make our web content more secure and accessible. We will continue to improve user experience across ANU websites in 2024.


What's coming next

We will implement a new case management system, Advocate, to enable our staff to build personalised student support plans, and support a confidential sexual misconduct disclosure process to improve student safety and wellbeing.
