Enabling inclusive and outstanding services for students

We are delivering a better student experience at ANU through simple, personalised processes and digital tools that make it easy to navigate courses, find help and feel connected to our University community.

Promoting digital accessibility

ANU has soared from 20th to 4th place out of 33 organisations in the Australian Network on Disability (AND) maturity model scorecard in just two years. In 2023, we conducted over 25 workshops and presentations across the University to promote awareness of digital accessibility. The work in this space continues!

Bolstering student safety and wellbeing support capacity

In February 2024, we launched Advocate, a new case management system which allows our Student Safety and Wellbeing staff to create and assess tailored support plans for students, including handling sensitive sexual misconduct disclosures.

Web upgrades

Since 2023, we have upgraded the ANU homepage, Tuckwell, Library, Archives, Orientation, College of Law and Study websites to enhance usability and make our web content more secure and accessible. We will continue to improve user experience across ANU websites in 2024.

To sustain and maximise the University's substantial investment in enhancing our web landscape in the past 18 months, we are establishing a comprehensive web strategy and implementing more efficient governance. We will also expand the roll-out of our new case management system, Advocate, to Student Counselling and Office of the Registrar by the end of 2024.
