Resources for people with a disability

People and Culture provide support to staff with disability via the Safety and Wellbeing Team.  Contact Disability Support for information on workplace assessments, workplace adjustment plans, accessible parking or advice. 

For more information on workplace adjustments please read the ANU Workplace Adjustment – Staff information guide or talk to your Supervisor or local Human Resources Officer. 

Provides the location of all ANU Hearing Augmentation systems.  Find out more about using Hearing Augmentation systems, and request an IR receiver to use the IR system from ANU Service Now.  Staff who use the hearing loop systems will be issued a receiver to use as needed.

If you would require assistance to evacuate in an emergency, you need to complete a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan and lodge it with your building custodian.

The ANU is a member of the Neurodiversity Hub which provides resources for neurodivergent staff.

ANU OK is an ANU produced mobile phone app.  It has a fix-my-campus app which allows you to report access problems on campus by taking a photo and reporting directly to Facilities and Services.  The app will also alert to you to emerging situations on campus.

The ANU offers an employee assistance program (EAP) to staff requiring counselling and advisory services.

Employment Resources

IncludeAbility is the AHRC website with resources for people with a disability, employers and industry leaders.  Find information resources to support people with a disability at work and information which is useful in creating more accessible workplaces. 

JobAccess provides useful information and resources for people with disability at work.  JobAccess Employment Access Fund is available to support people with a disability fund equipment, support options and resources to help.

The Australian Network on Disability (AND) helps organisations employ people with disability and provide more accessible products and services for their customers.

The National Equipment Database ASKNED contains information and advice for equipment users. 

AHEAD AT HIVE to find assistive technology solutions such as software and workarounds to help at work. 

Microsoft 365 has accessibility tools to make working in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook easier. 

The National Relay Service (NRS) enables people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, or who do not speak, to communicate via a three-way telephone connection.
