I believe mentoring is important because I would like to give back to the community which generously supported me when I first started at ANU.

As a Group Leader and Professor, I am aware of the struggles and challenges faced by EMCRs. These challenges include securing funding and fellowships in an increasingly competitive environment, choosing suitable career paths, and how to transition from a PhD student to a Postdoc, from a Postdoc to an independent investigator, negotiating a start-up package, and applying for academic promotions. I am happy to offer my insights, and more importantly, provide a strong voice for EMCRs.
