Core IT Infrastructure
UPDATED 29 AUGUST 2024
Renewing and stabilising our core IT infrastructure
We are renewing and stabilising the University's digital technology foundations to deliver connected, secure, and reliable IT infrastructure. Much of this work is being implemented through the Digital Infrastructure and Cloud Enablement (DICE) program.
Recent initiatives we've delivered
Enhancing the ANU contact centre experience
We completed the roll-out of 17 ANU contact centres on a new cloud-based platform to improve the University's support services—ensuring a more seamless and efficient experience for our staff and students.
Consolidating IT infrastructure
We're consolidating core IT infrastructure managed by Colleges and Schools to enable better management and service delivery of the University's IT hardware and software to staff.
Providing a modern operating environment for ANU devices
From January 2024, ANU staff and students using University-managed devices have access to the newest operating system, Windows 11—minimising security risks and helping to maintain current technology offerings.
What's coming next
We're improving our Wi-Fi network across all ANU campuses to allow better access, connectivity, and collaboration. We will replace outdated wireless access points in buildings and residences to decrease Wi-Fi 'blackspots'.
Follow-Me printing
We're implementing secure and reliable Follow-Me printing on existing multi-function printer devices across the Acton campus. All staff and students will soon be able to print and scan by simply swiping your ANU ID card.
Enhancing our communications rooms
We're enhancing our communications rooms to ensure that our essential equipment such as servers and switches can continue to perform optimally and support critical services. We will partner with an approved service provider to design and implement the necessary enhancements, in collaboration with the ANU Facilities and Services Division.
