Occupational Strains Liaison Officer Network
Occupational Strains Liaison Officers (OSLO) are ANU staff members from across the University who have volunteered and been trained to assist with workstation set up and adjustments. OSLO can assess workstation set-ups for staff and HDR students and provide general advice on ergonomics issues when requested. OSLO can assist with:
- Computer, office or laboratory workstation configuration,
- mouse and keyboard options,
- chair, footrest and desk adjustments,
- safe use of laptops for work.
OSLO encourage the early reporting of injuries in Figtree so work-related injuries and aggravations are assessed and treated quickly. OSLO can assist staff and HDR students who have a minor injury or illness by assessing their workstation and seeking additional advice from the injury management team.
Where a staff member has a work-related injury, this must be communicated to the supervisor and an incident notification submitted in Figtree. From this point, a health professional will assess the injury and provide advice and may also ask the OSLO to conduct a workstation assessment for the staff member.
OSLO do not advise on treatment for injuries, early intervention programs or worker's compensation.
