Senior women leadership program (HRCD03)

Course overview

The program is designed especially for high potential professional women who aspire to be exemplary leaders. It's for any women who is dedicated and committed to developing herself professionally and wants to reach her full potential.

It's a program that compliments traditional leadership programs but it includes content that's not usually covered but is entirely relevant for the challenges that women leaders face today.

The University is focused on improving the representation of women in senior academic and professional roles.

The 2012 Australian Census of Women in Leadership reveals that the numbers of women at the upper levels of corporate Australia are so low that it will take decades before women achieve any meaningful representation, UNLESS organisations adopt a more disciplined approach to leadership development for women.

A recent McKinsey survey of top management suggests that certain behaviours have become critical in order to meet future leadership challenges and yet they are in short supply. Of the 4 most critical behaviours, three are more often demonstrated by women. This unique program shows women how to leverage their strengths in these areas.

Program topics

Impact - There is no more important skill in attaining success -- personal and professional -- than ability to communicate effectively and with impact. Communication is not just about the WHAT it's ALL about the HOW.

Influence: Is a key leadership skill. We work with and through other people as a leader and we need to influence in order to succeed. There is a specific psychology and neurology of influence that we can learn which increases effectiveness noticeably.
