Business Intelligence & Analytics (Data)

The Business Intelligence and Analytics team manage the University’s data warehouse and business intelligence reporting system, ANU Insight, which compiles university data from a range of enterprise systems and other sources to facilitate standardised self-service management information reporting. ANU Insight presently contains data and standardised reporting for a range of university processes including:

• Human Resources (HR) reporting (Work Health and Safety (WHS) reporting, Statement of Academic Activity (SAA), eForm reporting and Payroll Costing Analysis (PCA))
• student data reporting (enrolment, load, admissions, eForm reporting)
• financial reporting (Chief Investigator Financial Reporting (CIFR), travel reporting)
• research reporting (grants, publications, Higher Degree Research (HDR) supervision).

Additional content is currently being scoped and prepared for publication in ANU Insight, including electricity consumption reporting, student accommodation reporting, student survey and evaluation data, additional eForm reporting and expanded student, research, financial and HR reporting.

PSP is entrusted by the data custodians who own the data, to distribute data requests only to authorised staff members, and only for authorised University use. PSP must adhere to the access protocols prescribed by the data custodians to ensure that any distribution of data is compliant with both the ANU data governance guidelines and the Australian Privacy Principles.
