The ANU Data Hub is live

The ANU Data Hub is a platform for all University staff. It draws from different sources across ANU and beyond to provide a single portal to search for and access analysis, evaluations, and visualisations of data relevant to different aspects of the University.

What is PDA?

The Planning, Data & Analytics Division supports the University to achieve its strategy and performance aspirations by delivering trusted datasets and analysis and driving the ANU Data, Information Management and Integration Strategy 2023–2026 by modernising ANU data and analytics architecture and executing the University’s obligations under the ANU Data Governance Policy and Procedure. 

The work of the division also underpins the University’s planning and performance framework and ensures compliance with key legislative and regulatory requirements including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA Act) and the Higher Education Support Act (HESA Act). The division also ensures that Provider Standards are met and utilised to drive performance and accountability throughout the ANU. This includes oversight of quality assurance and performance reviews of organisational units. Acting as custodian of the Service Performance Framework, the division uses data insights to inform key service improvement proposals for implementation.

• Planning & University Performance team
  The Planning & University Performance team are higher education planning and policy experts with skills in higher education strategy, planning, governance, quality assurance and advanced analytical modelling. 
  
  The team manages University strategy and planning; student and revenue planning; school reviews; and higher education policy, compliance and governance. This team is the custodian of the Planning and Reporting Framework.

   

• Analytics Translation & Insights team
  The Analytics Translation & Insights team deliver technical leadership in the development of advanced analytic solutions using statistical models, machine learning and artificial intelligence while ensuring data quality, integrity, and privacy. The team analyse data to draw insights, patterns, and conclusions to enable the University to improve services and processes or to develop new strategies. The team also undertakes to improve data literacy across ANU and delivers regular, ad hoc and bespoke data analysis. 
  
  The team also has oversight of the University’s student surveys, providing leadership in the development, deployment, analysis and reporting of institutional research, business intelligence and evaluations to support quality improvement at the University and to enhance the University experience. The team administer or coordinate a number of national, international and institutional based surveys targeted to the community of ANU. The team is also responsible for the leadership and management around researching, improving, monitoring and reporting on University performance and sector benchmarking.

   

• Data Provisioning, Analytics & Governance team
  The Data Provisioning, Analytics & Governance team leads the transformation ANU data and analytics and drives improvements in data quality, utility and reporting by working with Executive Data Stewards and the Data Domain Stewards to improve and strengthen the use of sophisticated datasets to inform key decision-making in the University. 
  
  The team is also responsible for institutional data architecture and metadata management, data warehousing and the provision of data to enable evidence-based decision-making. The team drives the Data Information Management & Integration Strategy as part of the Digital Plan to build value in our data assets and has oversight of data governance under the ANU policy and procedure.
