ANU ID & Password

To access online services at ANU, you will need to use your ANU ID and password.

ANU ID

Your ANU ID is assigned when you become a student or staff member at the University, and is in the format of u1234567. If you're both a staff member and a student you'll have one ANU ID.

ANU Password

When you join the University, you will receive two separate Emails, one containing your University ID (UID) e.g. u1234567, the second containing a computer-generated password.  The password should be changed immediately to a secure password or passphrase by accessing Identity Manager. Tips on choosing a secure password and passphrase, as well as setting up your secure questions to assist in resetting your password in the future are available in Identity Manager.

If you have not setup secure questions in Identity Manager, you have forgotten your password, or you did not receive the initial password by email, you will need to contact the Password reset line on +61 2 6125 4321.

You will never be asked to verify your account by clicking a link in an email. Please treat any such requests with suspicion, and report them as a possible IT security incident via the Service Desk.

ANU support staff will verify your identity over the telephone, before a password reset is actioned.
