Who should attend

All supervisors who have attended the Managing Very Difficult Workplace Behaviour (LPHR09) workshop.

Workshop Overview

This half-day follow up workshop is for staff who have completed the Managing Very Difficult Workplace Behaviours workshop – at any time in the past four years. This workshop focuses on participant case studies, systems ‘mapping’ of the people involved, and the clarification and/or development of HR case management systems, risk management and protocols when dealing with very difficult workplace behaviour.

NOTE: Attendance at Managing Very Difficult Workplace Behaviour (LPHR09) is a pre-requisite for attendance at this Masterclass workshop.  

Learning Outcomes

The program will:

  • Explore participant’s case examples and develop detailed management strategies
  • Review the first workshop and the impact, characteristics and types of very difficult behaviour – including the particular challenges created for the manager, management team, other staff, and the organisations as a whole.
  • Review organisational context/psycho-social system, risk and protective factors for very difficult workplace behaviours and how it is managed, tolerated, allowed or ignored
  • Review and discuss IR/HR requirements and their application as enablers of constraints in the management of vert difficult workplace behaviour.

Training Facilitator

Both training workshops will be facilitated by external consultant Greg Cook, a psychologist with over 20 years’ experience in leadership development and coaching coupled with extensive experience working with senior leaders across Go8 universities.
