Human Ethics Training

The new Human Research Ethics Training Course is now available. Information on how to complete this (including guidance documents) can be found onthe Human Ethics Training Sharepoint

This training will ensure ANU Research staff and Students understand the key ethical principles from the National Statement on Ethical conduct in human Research. It also guides you through key ethical concerns and provides additional resources to navigate the ethics process.

ANU staff can access the training course using PULSE (please search for Introduction to Human Ethics). Students and higher degree by research candidates, Masters and Honours students will use CANVAS

Research Ethics Drop-in Sessions

Research Ethics Drop-in Sessions provide students and researchers with an opportunity to meet with the Research Ethics team for guidance and support on Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) applications, assistance with the Research Ethics Management System (REMS), and clarification of ethics requirements and processes.

The drop-in sessions are held alternately in person and online. In-person sessions take place in the Committee Room (Ground Floor), Geography Building, 48A Linnaeus Way, Acton ACT 2601, with entrance via Linnaeus Way.

Schedule 

Drop-in Sessions from Feb to Nov 2026 (alternates between in-person/online)

• In-person sessions (one session per month): Wednesdays, 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Committee Room (Ground Floor), Geography Building, 48A Linnaeus Way, Acton ACT 2601

• Online sessions (one session per month): Mondays, 10:00am to 11:00am, Microsoft Teams meeting
