Student Cohort Planning
Overview
Student Cohort Planning supports and informs a number of the University’s strategic processes, such as resource planning, budgeting, admissions planning, marketing & student recruitment, through modelling of student commencing and continuing load.
Planning and Service Performance carries out periodic modelling and estimation of expected current-year closing-position and forward-year projections, including the profile of our student body population.
The development of an annual 5-year student plan is underpinned by the University’s strategic plan and considers other external influences such as college planning, specific market risks and government policies affecting current or future institutional load.
Modelling is achieved through the forward projection of continuing (returning) student load, which then allows for strategic determination of the commencing student cohort size and demographic configuration, so as to steer the student population toward the desired position.
