Create an interactive event experience using the ANU Forum app

Do you run events for your college or division? If so, this may help make your job a little easier!

The new ANU Forum event management system is now available for use across all areas of the University. Hosted by the Public Policy and Societal Impact Hub and powered by ‘Attendify’, this platform gives you the digital tools to create a functional webpage and interactive app for your next event or forum.

Benefits

In 2018, the Hub team used the platform for both The ANU Crawford Leadership Forum (ACLF) and The First Nations Governance Forum, allowing them to cut down on their paper programs while curating tailored communications to participants via their mobile phones.

At the two-day ACLF, participants could choose from a myriad of breakfast, lunch and plenary sessions often creating a complex logistics process. Attendify allowed the Hub team to deliver individualised programs to each participant via the app, significantly easing the administrative burden of event management.  You can customise a range of many other features including speaker biographies and headshots, background reading attachments, logistical information, interactive venue maps, Twitter feeds and sponsorship and partner information.

All in one solution

The new registration feature on the program allows attendees to RSVP to your event without using a third party registration system. If you decide to use a different registration tool, or if you have a conference service provider, you can bulk import attendee and speaker information via excel templates provided on the platform.

Social experience

The software comes with a social networking element for you to connect with attendees and for participants to connect with each other. The Hub team utilised this feature to share critical information regarding transport departure times, housekeeping instructions, sponsorship advertisements, and photos and articles surrounding the content of the Forum. You can even conduct polls to collect real-time feedback about your attendee’s experience.  Attendify also provides a private network environment for participants to share content, photos and private messages, doing away with business card exchanges.

Cost effective

The cost and time to create a bespoke event site and app can be prohibitive, particularly when you may only use it for a few weeks of the year.  As ANU has endorsed the Attendify platform, you are not required to seek external quotes or go through a procurement process. The Hub is responsible for the yearly subscription fee, so you pay the cost of your individual event. Each event receives an app and website that mirror each other, making your build easy and reactive.
