International Visits & Engagement

The beautiful Australian National University (ANU) campus is located in the heart of Australia’s capital city – Canberra.
ANU International Office (AIO) team manages visits to the ANU by potential and existing international partners; including universities, research organisations, international agencies and dignitaries.

Requests for international visits are coordinated and managed by AIO. Our activities include the preparation of meaningful and impactful programs in line with visitor objectives and in support of the University’s international engagement and collaboration priorities.

Organising an international visit to ANU
Representatives of international institutions interested in an official visit to the University should complete the International Visit Request Form and submit it at least three weeks before the proposed visit.

The ISP team will assess the request for a visit, advise the outcome, and liaise with relevant areas of ANU and the University Executive as appropriate, to schedule and prepare a visit program. Please note that whilst all purposeful international visit requests are welcome and comprehensively assessed, the University may not always have the capacity to accommodate them.

International engagement during Covid-19
As a result of the global health crisis and international travel restrictions, all planned international visits to the University were out on hold in March 2020.

The University recalled all staff and students from abroad, including students undertaking exchange programs. All international travel is on hold until further notice.

If you are located overseas and would like to engage with ANU staff, as an alternative to a campus visit, we invite you to contact us by emailing international.strategy@anu.edu.au to schedule a virtual meeting (video conference).
