Call Recording

The ANU does not provide call recording services for staff.

This is, in part, due to the recording of conversations being tightly regulated by law in Australia (Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 and State and Territory listening devices laws). The general rule is that calls may not be recorded. There are exceptions to these rules in very limited circumstances including where a warrant applies.

The ANU does utilise Call Recording software across the ANU Security and F&S Parking teams.

Alternative Options

ITS recommend utilising Microsoft Teams and Zoom as alternative services for recording audio of meetings.
