Windows 11

At ANU we currently have 2 Windows Operating Systems – Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Both Windows versions are managed by Information Technology Services (ITS). This means that your ANU-managed device will receive automated Windows and security updates, and remote support for those working off campus.

Find out which version of Windows operating system are you running.

Windows 11

Windows 11 is the newest operating system released by Microsoft.

Since January 2024, all new ANU-managed Windows devices are equipped with Windows 11. Some Colleges and Schools will also receive Windows 11 as part of the Technical Consolidation Project. Read more about this project.

As part of the Windows 11, you have access to modern technology tools such as OneDrive to store your documents, Company Portal for downloading ANU-approved software, and M365 - a suite of application such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, To-do, Power Automate, etc.

We have put together a reference guide which will help you navigate Windows 11, OneDrive, M365, and the Company Portal.

Windows 10

Windows 10 is currently on existing ANU-managed laptops (issued prior to January 2024) and all computers within the Information Commons (IC)
