Marie Reay Teaching Centre

The Marie Reay 5.02 is a learning space located on the Marie Reay Teaching Centre Building. This space is used for mid-scale teaching and seminar. The room is equipped with wireless presentation capability, laptop input connections, Echo360 lecture capture, an ANU resident PC and microphones.

This space contains an ANU resident PC that can be used for presentations if you do not want to use your own device. This resident PC is located on the rear of the preview monitor located on the lectern. You may need to access it if you wish to connect a USB storage device.
Using the touch panel located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has booted up, the PC is presented on to the main display by default. And each student POD if “Show Lecture” has been selected on the touch panel located below each POD screen.
You will need to log on to the PC using your ANU credentials. Use the keyboard and mouse, located on the lectern, to control this computer. You can adjust the audio level by using the buttons on the right-hand side of the touch panel. Press the “Audio Mute” button to mute and unmute the audio.

This space is equipped with wireless presentation functionality. This allows you to present your device through the audio visual system wirelessly when connected to the ANU-Secure Wi-Fi.
Using the touch panel located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has booted up, select “Wireless Presenter” and then select “Send to Screen”. The wireless presentation system will now display instructions on the preview monitor and main display. And each student POD if “Show Lecture” has been selected on the touch panel located below each POD screen. Follow these instructions on how to wirelessly present your device.

This space has the ability to present a laptop or other portable device, such as a tablet, through the audio visual system. Open the table box and pull the retractable HDMI cable out of the table box. Connect it to the HDMI port on your device.
If your device does not have a HDMI connection, please utilise an adapter, which will need to be provided by yourself for your particular device. Alternatively, you can utilise wireless presentation.
Using the touch panel, located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has completed booting up, select “HDMI Plate” and then select “Send to Screen”. Your laptop will now be presented on to the preview monitor and main display. And each student POD if “Show Lecture” has been selected on the touch panel located below each POD screen.

This space contains two wireless lapel microphones that can be used as voice reinforcement for the space and voice capture for Echo360 recordings. One of these microphones is a backup microphone in case of issues like a flat battery. These microphones are located in their charging dock on the lectern.
To use the lapel microphone, remove it from the charging dock and check that the switch is in the “on” position and the status light on top of the belt-pack is illuminated green.
Clip the belt pack to your belt, pocket or lanyard then clip the microphone itself to your lapel or lanyard. For best placement, clip it between the top two buttons of your shirt or elsewhere within a similar range to your mouth.
Using the touch panel, located on the lectern, you can adjust and mute the microphone. To do this, select “Microphones” on the left-hand side of the touch panel. Adjust the microphone level by using the arrows and the mute button to mute and unmute the microphone.

This space contains an Echo360 lecture capture system. This system allows you to capture voice when using the wireless microphones and source devices such as the PC or laptop. The Echo360 capture device will record video content that is being presented on the main display.
Using the touch panel, located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has booted up, select “Lecture Recording” in the bottom left corner of the touch panel. You’ll need to enter the details of the recording including the title, your ANU ID number, including the “U” prefix, and the duration of the recording.
Press the “Start” button to begin the capture. You can extend the recording by 10 minutes by pressing “Extend +10 min”, pause the recording by pressing the “Pause” button or stop the recording by pressing the “Stop” button.
As you have entered your ANU ID, the recording will be located within your ANU Echo360 account.
