Successful applicants will only be accepted from those with Australian residency or a valid work permit and agree to provide information for pre-employment checks, if required for the position (which may include police records checks) as well as verification of Australian Citizenship.

The University may sponsor temporary and permanent resident visas for over seas persons who have been offered a position at The Australian National University. Generally this only applies to certain academic positions.

The visa sponsorship process should commence only after formal acceptance of the offer has been received. The process of granting a visa can take up to 6 months, and this timescale should be factored into the planning process. Your HR team can provide advice on visa issues and assist with the process of nominations.
