Local Area Allies

The ANU Ally Network presents our Local Area Allies (LAAs).

Local Area Allies are your closest Network members that can be additional support for LGBTQIA+ staff or students in your local areas of the university.

What LAAs can help with: 

  • Questions around gender and sexual diversity in your local areas 
  • Peer-member drop-in support for queer identifying students and staff 
  • Support to navigate local area and university systems and services 
  • Become a casual Ally Training trainer with the RRU 
  • Network admin and event support 
  • Newsletter contributions​​

​What LAAs cannot help with:

  • Expert advice on sexuality or gender
  • Professional counselling
  • 24 hour availability
  • Legal or medical advice
