Overview
Eligible RSAA students, staff or visiting Distinguished Fellows can stay on Mount Stromlo Campus in these comfortable self-serviced apartments subject to availability. Their location is convenient for attending on site study and boasts panoramic views. The Mt Stromlo Accommodation is comprised of 10 self-contained accommodation apartments. Apartments are available in studio (4), including accessible room, one bedroom (6). Parking for one (1) vehicle is included in your booking.

Conditions of Use - Mount Stromlo Observatory
These conditions apply to all ANU Apartment Bookings. Guests are expected to take reasonable care of the accommodation and grounds, their own and others’ safety and to act with courtesy and consideration to other occupants and staff at all times. Failure to observe these conditions may result in reduction or cancellation of the remainder of your reservation, at the discretion of management.
Accommodation options
ANU Apartments (Faulkner Court – MT Stromlo) offer self-contained, short-stay accommodation to RSAA students, ANU Staff and Visiting Distinguished Fellows. Bookings are limited to a minimum of seven (7) nights and maximum of two (2) months. All bookings over two (2) months are considered long stay.
Transfer to alternate accommodation
Occasionally ANU Apartments may be unable to provide the confirmed accommodation booked by a guest, or honour the total duration of the stay. In such circumstances, ANU will use its best endeavours to arrange reasonably equivalent alternate accommodation for the affected period originally booked by the guest and reasonable advance notice of transfers. Relocated guests will be liable for the tariff applicable to their ANU booking. Any additional tariff for equivalent alternate accommodation will be paid by ANU. If no suitable alternate accommodation can be obtained, the unused portion of the tariff for the affected period of the original booking will be refunded to the guest.

Office hours are as above, excluding public holidays and the ANU closure period. ANU closure period means the period from the last business day before 25 December to the first business day after 1 January.

Internet
Internet connection is provided in each room and wireless access to the University network is available in the common area of Faulkner Court. Internet support is provided by Mount Stromlo IT, please email rsaa.servicedesk@anu.edu.au with any enquiries.
Improving the Environment
Faulkner Court is committed to environmental sustainability. Faulkner Court provides recycling bins for glass, plastic, cartons and tins. These bins are located at the southern end of the building near the bike racks. Faulkner Court, in conjunction with ANU green provides each student with a desk[1]side recycling bin for collecting paper.

Check-in/check out is undertaken during office hours.
Payment
Security deposit: Deposit of two (2) weeks must be paid prior to your arrival. The deposit will be held as security for your accommodation and may be used for any costs charged to your accommodation account outstanding at check-out, such cost may include but are not limited to additional guest tariff, cleaning fees and charges for damage to the accommodation during the stay. For guests paid through internal ANU payment, such additional costs will be charged to the applicable ANU account.
We accept payment by MasterCard, Visa, American Express (AMEX), direct debit, or internal ESP transfer for approved ANU payment.
For short stay accommodation full payment is required at the time of the booking.
For long stay accommodation an invoice will be issued monthly in advance.
Tariffs quoted are based on the number of occupants and length of stay. Any changes to these details may affect the tariff. To discuss the tariff please telephone or email ANU Apartments.
Tariffs are reviewed annually and may change without notice between bookings.
Cleaning and Damage Fees
Fees chargeable to guest accounts may include but are not limited to:
- Smoking in room – $165.00 cleaning fee in addition to any other cleaning fee that may apply;
- Replacement keys – $35.00 per replacement;
- Room soiling/damage – $165.00 cleaning fee, and in addition as applicable at cost: mattress replacement, professional floor clean, furniture/fixture/fitting clean or replacement, and tariff at the daily rate applicable to your booking until the room is restored to lettable condition;
- Breakages – reasonable replacement cost of damaged or broken items (itemised).
Noise and Disturbance
All guests and their visitors are expected to behave with consideration for other guests. Parties are not permitted. Disruptive behaviour (including excessive noise between 10pm – 6am) determined at the discretion of management may result in reduction or cancellation of your booking.
Faulkner Court requires noise to be kept to reasonable levels and makes residents responsible for the behaviour of their guests.
ANU will terminate a Room Agreement for anti-social behaviour, such as theft, harassment, drunkenness, wilful damage, any sort of violence, interfering with fire alarms or safety equipment, disobeying the instructions of a Fire Warden, or a breach of any of the rules in this Handbook or the Room Agreement. Each resident has an obligation towards community-minded behaviour.
Cancellation by You
All cancellations must be notified by email to ANU Apartments two (2) weeks prior to departure.
Bedding/Linen
Bedding is not included in the service at Faulker Court. You will be required to bring your own linen for bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens including but not limited to; pillows, doona, blankets, bed sheets, bathroom towls, bathroom mats, tea towles.
All linen must be removed when vacating the apartment.
Parking
One parking bay is allocated for each apartmet. Parking fees are included in the apartment fee. You will be required to provide your vehicle registration when making your booking.
Accessible parking bay is allocated for the single accessible apartment at Faulkner Court.

BBQs, Pets and smoking
The University is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on University grounds or in University buildings, including in ANU Apartments. A $165.00 cleaning fee will apply on each occasion of non-compliance with this smoke-free requirement in any ANU Apartment.
Pets are not permitted on the campus or in ANU Apartments. If you have an assistance animal please let us know at time of booking.
No Gas BBQ or fires are permitted at the accommodation or on University grounds. You must comply with any fire bans in force during your stay.
Lost property
Lost property is held at RSAA Office, CSO Building. Reception will hold any items left in the apartments after departure for up to 3 months after which the items may be disposed of as unclaimed goods. Please contact us as soon as possible if you think you have left something behind.
Liability of the University for loss of guests’ personal property from the accommodation during their stay is generally limited to AUD$40 per accommodation unit per day – see Traveller accommodation providers notice in the apartment. The University is unable to store guests’ property for safe custody purposes.
