Who should attend

A person performing this work is required to hold a boom-type elevating work platform HRWL.

Description

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant. Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

Units of Competency

This course will cover the following nationally recognised unit of competency:

  • TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

From January 2015 if you are undertaking nationally recognised training delivered by a registered training organisation you will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) . This is an Australian Government requirement.

A USI account will contain all your nationally recognised training records and results from 1 January 2015 onwards. When applying for a job or enrolling into further study, you may need to provide your training records and results. One of the main benefits of the USI is that you will have easy access to your training records and results. You will be able to access you USI account online from a computer, tablet or smart phone.

To be able to receive your certificate on completion of the first aid course, you will need to create your USI. Please visit usi.gov.au and select the ‘Create a USI’ link and follow the steps. Please bring this number with you to the course so that it can be recorded on the paperwork for you to receive your certificate.
