Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (FAHR09)

Provider business unit: Work Environment Group (WEG) »

Who should attend

This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Due to ongoing restrictions in training delivery, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training is currently being facilitated in a mixed-mode format.

This includes an online self-paced learning component which needs to be completed in your own time before attending the face-to-face practical assessment on the advertised date.

Details to complete the online component will be sent out to participants around two weeks before the practical session.

Session times for the practical will vary depending on the number of registrations. The practical component of the training will involve a 1-hour session, however, it is expected that participants will be available on the date of the training from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Our team will confirm your practical session time closer to the date, this will be done on a first come first served basis. If you have a preference of a morning or afternoon session please contact our team with your request and we will try our best to accomodate for your needs. Please do so by contacting us after you register.

Please contact HRD.Development@anu.edu.au if you have any further queries about this training.

Units of Competency

This course will be provided by Allens Training. Details including units of competency, entry requirements, training duration, assessment requirements and certificate renewal requirements can be found on the Allens training course page.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

From January 2015 if you are undertaking nationally recognised training delivered by a registered training organisation you will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).  This is an Australian Government requirement.

A USI account will contain all your nationally recognised training records and results from 1 January 2015 onwards.  When applying for a job or enrolling into further study, you may need to provide your training records and results.  One of the main benefits of the USI is that you will have easy access to your training records and results.  You will be able to access you USI account online from a computer, tablet or smart phone.

To be able to receive your certificate on completion of the first aid course, you will need to create your USI.  Please visit usi.gov.au and select the ‘Create a USI’ link and follow the steps.  Please bring this number with you to the course so that it can be recorded for you to receive your certificate.
