Most ANU websites feature a promotional space on the homepage. You should contact the website owner directly to arrange a feature in this space.

What to promote

Information you might like to promote may relate to ANU:

• events, activities, milestones and celebrations
• courses, study programs, scholarships and accommodation related matters for future students

Your feature should have broad appeal to a wide target audience. If your message is quite specific, we may suggest an alternative location on the website or another channel, that may be more appropriate and effective in getting your message to your audience.

ANU homepage features

Marketing Office can also place promotional features on the ANU Gateway homepage, however, these messages must align with strategic priorities. 

Please note, promotional image dimensions are very wide and the sides on the image will be hidden on smaller screens. If you would like an example of ideal images for each space, please contact us. 

Top-of-page feature

Image dimensions: 2,000 x 600 pixels (3.33:1 ratio)

When shooting or selecting an image, maintain the key focal point in the second quarter, centre or third quarter of the frame and shoot wide (mid to long shot if photographing a person). If shooting, ideally take one of each. 

In-page band

Image dimensions: 2,000 x 400 pixels (5:1 ratio)

These bands are located in the middle and bottom of the ANU homepage. When shooting or selecting an image, maintain the key focal point in the centre of the frame and shoot wide (mid to long shot if photographing a person). 

Please note, an image with the subject in the centre can be used for both a top-of-page feature and an in-page band, provided it is wide enough, but an image with the subject in the second or third quarters cannot be used for an in-page band.

How to request a promotional web feature

To request a feature, please submit a request via the marketing request form. You will need to include:

• a feature title
• a short paragraph about what you want to promote
• an image scaled to 2000 x 600 pixels @ 72 dpi
• a URL for the 'read more' link where people can go for more detailed information.

We will let you know if your feature has been approved or get in touch with you for any adjustments.
