Overview
ANU staff, Visiting Fellows and HDR students can stay on campus in these comfortable self-serviced apartments. Their location is convenient for attending functions on campus and exploring the city. The Judith Wright Apartments are fully furnished and are available in one (1) and two (2) bedroom options. Bookings are currently limited to two (2) nights (minimum) and three (3) months (maximum) stay. Parking for one (1) vehicle is included in your booking. Parking will be subject to availability. Long term accommodation options are currently unavailable
Please note:

- Payment in full is required at the time of booking.
- Cancellations must be advised by email to reservations.uas@anu.edu.au two (2) business days prior to your booking and will incur a cancellation fee of one night at the daily rate applicable to your booking.
- If you require after hours check-in from 5:00pm Monday to Friday or on a weekend, please advise staff at the time of booking.

Conditions
Conditions of Use - ANU Apartments
These conditions apply to all ANU Apartment Bookings. Guests are expected to take reasonable care of the accommodation and grounds, their own and others’ safety and to act with courtesy and consideration to other occupants and staff at all times. Failure to observe these conditions may result in reduction or cancellation of the remainder of your reservation, at the discretion of management.
Short stay accommodation only
ANU Apartments offer self-contained, short-stay accommodation to ANU Staff, Visiting Fellows and PHD students and External Guests attending an official ANU event. Bookings are limited to a minimum of two (2) nights and maximum of three (3) months accommodation only.
Transfer to alternate accommodation
Occasionally ANU Apartments may be unable to provide the confirmed accommodation booked by a guest, or honour the total duration of the stay. In such circumstances, ANU will use its best endeavours to arrange reasonably equivalent alternate accommodation for the affected period originally booked by the guest and reasonable advance notice of transfers. Relocated guests will be liable for the tariff applicable to their ANU booking. Any additional tariff for equivalent alternate accommodation will be paid by ANU. If no suitable alternate accommodation can be obtained, the unused portion of the tariff for the affected period of the original booking will be refunded to the guest.

ANU Apartments office is attended between 9AM – 5PM Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays and the ANU closure period. Bookings occurring outside the opening hours must be confirmed 24 hours in advance.
ANU Apartments office is unattended on public holidays and for the ANU closure period. ANU closure period means the period from the last business day before 25 December to the first business day after 1 January.

Check in/Check out
Check-in is after 2PM, check-out is 10AM sharp, Canberra local time. However, should you require an early check in or late check out, please advise at the time of the booking and we will endeavour to accommodate this requirement where possible.
Payment
All bookings (including parking if applicable) must be pre-paid in full at time of booking. A confirmation email will be forwarded to you.
We only accept payment by MasterCard, Visa, or internal ESP transfer for approved ANU payment.
Security deposit: All bookings require provision of a valid credit card number. Your card will not be charged in advance, but will be held as security for your accommodation and may be used for any costs charged to your accommodation account outstanding at check-out, such cost may include but are not limited to additional guest tariff, cleaning fees and charges for damage to the accommodation during the stay. For guests paid through internal ANU payment, such additional costs will be charged to the applicable ANU account.
Tariffs quoted are based on the number of occupants and length of stay. Any changes to these details may affect the tariff. To discuss the tariff please telephone or email ANU Apartments.
Tariffs are reviewed annually and may change without notice between bookings.
Cleaning and damage fees
Fees chargeable to guest accounts may include but are not limited to:
- Smoking in room – $165.00 cleaning fee in addition to any other cleaning fee that may apply;
- Replacement keys – $20.00 per replacement;
- Room soiling/damage – $165.00 cleaning fee, and in addition as applicable at cost: mattress replacement, professional floor clean, furniture/fixture/fitting clean or replacement, and tariff at the daily rate applicable to your booking until the room is restored to lettable condition;
- Breakages – reasonable replacement cost of damaged or broken items (itemised).
Noise and disturbance
All guests and their visitors are expected to behave with consideration for other guests. Parties are not permitted. Disruptive behaviour (including excessive noise between 10PM – 6AM) determined at the discretion of management may result in reduction or cancellation of your booking.
Cancellation by you
All cancellations must be notified by email to ANU Apartments.
Cancellations made within two (2) business days prior to check-in will incur a cancellation fee of one night at the daily rate applicable to your booking.
No-shows and cancellations after check-in will incur a cancellation fee of 2 nights at the daily rate applicable to your booking.
Cleaning
Apartments are self-service. If you require a cleaning service during your stay, please request this via reservations.uas@anu.edu.au, additional charges apply. Cleaning and washing equipment is provided in the accommodation for your convenience.
Please remove rubbish and recycling regularly including when you vacate. The waste collection bins are located inside the compound next to the main car park entry.
Additional bedding
Children under the age of 24 months stay for free. Rooms include a basic travel cot at no extra charge. Guests are required to bring their own cot linen.
Fold up beds (with linen) for children from 24 months up to 12 years old are available upon request for some room types.
The overnight guest tariff will apply to all overnight visitors to your accommodation over the age of 24 months requiring extra fold up beds.
The tariff for each extra fold up bed is $25.00 per night.
Parking
Parking is included in the tariff for one (1) vehicle only. Parking is available for booked guests only and parking fees apply for visitors. Please ask us about parking at time of booking. Parking will be subject to availablity.
WiFi and telephone
Wifi access is included in the tariff. Support for wifi connection issues is only available during business hours.
If there is a fixed line telephone in your apartment, it can only be used for internal ANU calls and calls to emergency services.

You must without delay cooperate with any ANU or emergency services directions to evacuate.
Group bookings
Group bookings for events are welcome and are subject to availability. To confirm a group booking, payment is required no less than 28 days prior to check-in. A Group Contract will be provided to outline all requirements.
BBQs, pets and smoking
The University is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on University grounds or in University buildings, including in ANU Apartments. A $165.00 cleaning fee will apply on each occasion of non-compliance with this smoke-free requirement in any ANU Apartment.
Pets are not permitted on the campus or in ANU Apartments. If you have an assistance animal please let us know at time of booking.
No Gas BBQ or fires are permitted at the accommodation or on University grounds. You must comply with any fire bans in force during your stay.
Lost property
Lost property is held at the Reception Office at Anthony Low Building. Reception will hold any items left in the apartments after departure for up to 3 months (dependant on value) after which the items may be disposed of as unclaimed goods. Please contact us as soon as possible if you think you have left something behind.
Liability of the University for loss of guests’ personal property from the accommodation during their stay is generally limited to AUD$40 per accommodation unit per day – see Traveller accommodation providers notice in the apartment. The University is unable to store guests’ property for safe custody purposes.
COVID-19 protocol
Guests must familiarise themselves with the COVID-19 Notification Requirements and ANU protocol and any updates or related COVID-19 policies, procedures or protocols notified to you during your stay. Guests must follow all reasonable directions from ANU, or ACT Health or other authorities with jurisdiction to issue such directions.
Please maintain good hand and cough hygiene, keep your distance and check in using the 'Check In CBR' app.
Please remember to isolate and get tested if you feel unwell. Alert reservations.uas@anu.edu.au if you are:
- a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19;
- identified as a close contact of COVID-19; or
- notified of a requirement to quarantine.
Force Majeure: The University will not be in breach of any agreement to provide the accommodation to you and will not have any liability to you whatsoever if in respect of your booking any act, event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the University has a substantial impact on the ability of the University to operate the accommodation.
