CRICOS
If a College is intending to provide an Academic Program to international students, ANU is required to comply with the ESOS legal framework and register on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
The Academic Standards and Quality Office (ASQO) will apply to the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) for registration on CRICOS for all Awards or non-award programs where the relevant proposal indicates that International Student Fee-paying places are available. Full details required for registration on CRICOS is collected as part of a 'New Award' or 'Amendment' proposal (see the Course and program proposals page) though ANU Colleges may be requested to provide additional information by ASQO on behalf of TEQSA.
Applications are made within two weeks of notification of the proposal being accredited by Academic Board. It may take up to two months to be granted registration on CRICOS and this needs to be considered in regards to setting timelines for full approval and publication. It is contrary to the ESOS Act to publicise programs without a CRICOS code to international students. Once notification of registration is recieved by TEQSA, ASQO will add codes to the Student Administration System which will then be published on the Programs and Courses website.
