SensusAccess is an online tool that allows students and staff to convert documents from a variety of existing formats into an alternative format that may make content more accessible.
For example, you can convert:
- A Microsoft Word file into a DAISY talking book or e-book
- A journal article into an audio MP3 file
- An image of text such as a scanned PDF into a more accessible format such as a Microsoft Word or Excel document
- Documents into various Ebook formats
Convert a file
- Go directly to the ANU SensusAccess document conversion service
- Select your file(s) and upload
- Select the target format of your document
- Specify accessibility conversion options
- Enter your ANU student/ staff email address where the converted file will be sent and submit the request.
Conditions of use
You can make an accessible copy if you own the copyright (e.g., it is your own work), have permission from the copyright holder (e.g. documents that are publicly available on ANU website), if the copyright has expired, or if it is for someone with a print disability.
If these conditions of use are met you need to be aware that:
- the copy cannot be shared with others
- you cannot find a commercially available version in an appropriate format.
- you will abide by the Copyright Act 1968 and ANU copyright policies and practices.
