Strengthening Gender Equality at Our University

Our university is committed to creating a fair, inclusive, and equitable workplace for all staff. As part of this commitment, we participate in the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reporting framework, which supports organisations across Australia to advance gender equality through evidence‑based action.

Learn more about the University's WGEA targets engagement and consultation

From 2026 all organisations with 500 or more employees will be selecting three gender equality targets as part of the annual reporting submission process.

Our university is committed to fostering a workplace where everyone has equal opportunity to succeed. By engaging with WGEA target selection and contributing to all staff consultation processes, we can strengthen our collective ability to create meaningful, lasting change.

To learn more about how you can participate in consultation, you can visit our SharePoint site, where all staff information is available.

The University will consult on proposed gender equality targets that will guide future reporting and action across our organisation.  Three-year foundational targets will support meaningful, measurable progress and reflect the diverse needs of all staff, no matter their gender.

For a comprehensive overview of these targets please see Targets under review for ANU sharepoint page.
