Travel with, and accessing University devices, systems and data

Information security is a shared responsibility across the University. As such, all travellers have a duty to take appropriate precautions and continue to follow all information security policies and requirements while traveling. These include those outlined in the Overseas Travel with Devices - Best Practices Guide, Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs), and any specific guidance issued by the Information Security Office (ISO).

 

Please note that travellers intending to take an ANU device overseas must complete the Register overseas travel with ANU device form in ANU Connect at least 10 business days prior to departure. If your trip is unusual or particularly complex, the ISO recommends completing the form as early as possible to minimise delays.

 

The ISO has responsibility for protecting ANU devices, data, and systems, including while traveling. Overseas travel presents increased security risks to our people, systems and information and may introduce additional policy, legal, or regulatory obligations. As a result, the ISO may require the implementation of additional circumstance-specific processes or controls, which ANU travellers must follow before, during, and after travel.
