Legal, Governance & Risk
The Legal, Governance & Risk Division comprises the University Legal Office (ULO) and the Corporate Governance & Risk Office (CGRO), as the central functions of ANU dedicated to ensuring the University’s compliance with the law, assurance in governance, and active risk management.
University Legal Office (ULO)
ULO is responsible for the provision of all legal services to ANU, directed to ensuring the University meets its strategic objectives.
ULO provides assurance that the way ANU proposes to act is legally defensible, within the scope of the University's powers, and that all legal risks are appropriately identified and managed to the University's benefit.
Corporate Governance & Risk Office (CGRO)
CGRO is responsible for coordinating the governance and assurance functions of ANU, principally through advice and support to the Council, Council Committees, the ANU Foundation Board, the Academic Board and its Committees.
CGRO manages the governance frameworks of ANU, which cover legislation, policy and delegations. The Office is also responsible for implementing the University's enterprise-wide risk management framework, and managing internal and external audit programs.
Both offices are located on the third floor of the east wing of the Baldessin Building, #110.
