HDR Update

Last week after much anticipation and speculation we learned that our Vice Chancellor will be Distinguished Professor Genevieve Bell. In case you were focussing on your research and missed the exciting news, you can read all about it in the ANU Reporter.

It’s now full blown duckling season, keep an eye out for those iconic ANU cuties. Please do make the time to have a break outside to enjoy the spring weather. Canberra’s spring garden festival Floriade is a great way to celebrate the spring, is a short bike ride from ANU and better yet is free to enter.

And, speaking of festivals, save the date for our very own Research Fest on 1 December! This one-day research festival is timed to mark the the end of AcWriMo (Academic Writing Month) and celebrates the creative side of research with activities designed to invite innovative responses and generate lateral thinking. Expect games that are also research methods, a Craft your PhD competition, a world record Shut Up and Write attempt, merch, food and ice cream. Stay tuned for the program, participation is free for HDR candidates but registration will be essential.

Want to do your own podcast? I'm running a short session 'how to' session soon - it's in the listings above. Here's one of the resources I will share

This one on 'executive function theft' was an interesting way to think about the consequences of other people 'tasking' you to do things
