HDR Update

Welcome to June. The frost has set in and all the lovely Canberra colours are gone for another year. Last year we introduced the Supervisor Development Framework to provide opportunities for our academic staff to develop their supervision skills and to become registered as an ANU supervisor. Each year local HDR convenors will be planning renewal activities for supervising staff. It would help them if you let them know what skills you, as candidates, feel supervisors could do with refreshing.

Don’t forget that Three Minute Thesis competition will be taking place soon. This is a great opportunity to refine your communications skills and tell the world about your research. Further information is available here.

Get #SoMe, Social Media for Researchers

Researchers are being told that social media is critical to career success – but there is a lot of confusion about how best to make use of these tools. Are you eager to start sharing your research, but don’t know where to start? Or does being on social media create performance anxiety? Join the @thesiswhisperer and @VFSYES to learn how to use social media to further your research career. The class starts in July, find out more and apply here.

Our second book writing bootcamp is designed to help you think about translating your research into a mainstream, research based book that would be interesting for a major publisher. June 4, 11, 18 2021, find out more and express your interest here.
