HDR Update

Ducklings have been spotted around campus and the blossoms are spectacular this year. It really is spring. Even though I have lived in Canberra most of my life I am always surprised at how bad my hay fever can be. To keep an eye on Canberra pollen counts visit the Canberra pollen website or follow @CanberraPollen on twitter.

In the next few weeks you will be receiving an email from me with an invitation to participate in the Postgraduate Research Evaluation Survey (PRES). This survey is our best way to understand your experience at ANU so that we can make it better in the future, so please keep an eye out for that in your inbox this month. We really value the feedback you provide and use it to make changes to support you.

Just in case you missed it, last Friday the VC announced some important changes to PhD stipends. We have made an FAQ page, which should answer most of your questions. If you still have questions you can get in touch with GRO.

Midnight Oil are playing for what they say is the last time at ANU this weekend, excited to see them perform here again; they were one of the first bands I saw at ANU – in the 1980s! Get along to see them if you can.

Thesis Boot Camp
The Thesis Boot Camp is back! Join us for the 'write 20,000 words on a weekend' challenge in December. The concept is disarmingly simple. Put a group of people experiencing similar issues in the same room for a weekend, feed them regularly and provide a reward for each 5,000 words written.Think it can't be done? Come along and find out. The registrations close on 16 Nov 2022
