The Career Doctor
Ever wonder exactly what you’re going to do with your PhD when you’re finished? You’re not alone! Most HDR candidates don’t realise that a PhD gives you more than just a deep understanding of specific area of knowledge. Through your PhD you’ll learn how to manage projects and budgets, communicate to a variety of audiences, collaborate with others, and many other skills that prospective employers are after. The Career Doctor is a series of workshops aimed at helping you recognise the skills your PhD provides, building your strengths, and developing new skills that employers want. So whether you want to work in academia, government, or private business, The Career Doctor offers unique opportunities to help you start preparing yourself for life after your PhD.
These sessions are offered as part of a central programme or in local school or college areas. HDR candidates can register for these sessions centrally or request them through their College/School HDR training program by speaking with the HDR administrators, or HDR convenors directly.
