Higher Degree Research Welcome Event

Provider business unit: Research Training »

ANU is unique in Australia for the large proportion of higher degree research (HDR) students who come from all around the world, attracted by the vibrant intellectual life on campus. Since research students can start their degree at any time, Australian National University runs an official welcome lunch several times a year to introduce you to our community.

At this event you’ll meet new research students from all around the campus and listen to inspiring talks from our world leading researchers. This is your chance to connect with the broader research community at ANU and be formally welcomed into our intellectual tradition of “Naturam Primum Cognoscere Rerum” – first, know the nature of things.

Upcoming Dates:

  • Monday 3 April, 12:00 - 1:30pm. Applications are now open.
  • Monday 17 July, 12:00 - 1:30pm
  • Monday 6 November, 12:00 - 1:30pm

The official Welcome at ANU is proudly sponsored by the Postgraduate and Research Students' Association (PARSA) and is hosted by University House. Tickets for upcoming events can be found here.
