Foundations Plus Focus Series (FPF)

Course Description

The Foundations Plus Focus Series (FPF) is designed for educators who would like to examine in greater depth the foundations of university teaching and learning at ANU. Aligned with the Vision for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at ANU, we are developing a new series of educational initiatives to support academics and professional staff in enhancing the quality of their practice, and actively engaging students.

The course will be delivered within an interactive and enriching learning environment through different formats in an effort to offer choice and maximise participation:

  • Round tables
  • Interactive workshops
  • Talks by inspiring academics

Who can participate?

 The Foundations Plus Focus Series (FPF) is suited to:

  • All academics new to ANU and/or new to teaching;
  • Experienced lecturers wanting to reflect on, and discuss their teaching;
  • Research-focused academics adding a teaching role to their activities;
  • Professional staff with teaching/training and learner-centred support roles.

Requirements for the course

Although there are no specific requirements for the course, some of these sessions may require some pre-reading by participants (a relevant article or a book chapter), or some written reflective practice as guided.

Participation in all Foundations Plus Focus Series is free of charge for Australian National University staff.

no show/cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged to registrants who fail to attend a session or cancel their attendance less than 24 hours before the start of an event/session.
