We encourage our staff and students to engage with industry throughout their careers at ANU and forge long-term relationships that will assist in promoting the advancement of education and research.
This can be achieved a number of ways, including collaborative research, external consulting arrangements, attending relevant industry conferences, etc.
The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) can assist with developing proposals and negotiating terms for engagement with industry partners, such as preparing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), material transfer agreements (MTAs) or collaborative researche agreements.
ANU continually engages with other institutions, government or industry through research collaborations. There are a number of funding opportunities available to support collaborative research:
There are opportunities to become involved in external consulting through ANU Enterprise.
External consulting allows you to make connections with large multi-national corporations, government agencies and key industry bodies through consulting opportunities in a wide range of sectors.
There are many opportunities to meet and mingle with industry, such as First Wednesday Connect, a monthly networking event run by CBR Innovation Network.
The TTO will be running a 2.5 day Industry Engagement Bootcamp in May for researchers who would like to learn to better engage with industry. Details about the Bootcamp here.
