Focusing on “Staff” Data, the Stage 3 of the Project implemented the ability to capture changes to a person’s data and then share that change with consuming systems so that all systems with a requirement are provided the data in near-real-time with accurate and up-to date data. For example, any ANU Staff Member should be able to change their name in PeopleSoft HR and that updated name would be reflected in any system that has a feed from PeopleSoft. Stage 3 of the CANU Project delivered 14 successful integrations.
In previous stages the Project has implemented the tools and infrastructure required to provide the integration services via the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and has built a number of integration services that are being utilised to access data from the University sources of truth in near-real-time. The CANU Project has also implemented data event capturing for the Location data domain and so now pushes changes to location data (e.g. Room Name) to all systems (such as Timetabling) that have subscribed to the updates.
Visit the CANU system page for more information about the Services currently available through the ESB.
