On Friday 18 August 2017 road repairs are scheduled for a section of Ward Road and Garran Road. The area concerned is the section of road west of the pedestrian crossing on Garran Road (between Anthony Low building #124 and JCSMR #131) to just west of McPherson Bridge on Ward Road. The area concerned and the scope of work is illustrated in the photo.
The full scope of work is as follows:
- Repair areas of failed asphalt
- Replace four sets of rubber speed cushions
- Refresh all line marking including the zebra stripes on the pedestrian crossings
On Friday 18 August 2017 only the asphalt repairs will be undertaken. This will involve milling out the areas of failed asphalt and replacing with new asphalt. During this work one side of the roadway will remain open and the flow of traffic will be managed by traffic controllers. The road will remain open in both directions until 9.30am. On 19 August the pedestrian crossings will be line marked. The other works will be scheduled once the new asphalt has cured sufficiently - approximately 14 days after installation.
