Research to Impact webinars

Research to Impact is a two-part webinar series for researchers, hosted by the Canberra Innovation Network, to introduce practical tools that help you take your research out of academia, engage with industry, and find new opportunities.

As a researcher, you may be frustrated by the difficulty of finding ways to apply your research or ideas into meaningful results in the real world. The changing landscape has led to career challenges for early stage researchers and the need to diversify research income through non-traditional sources.

The two 1.5hr interactive webinars provide an excellent introduction to researchers interested in increasing the impact of your research and industry engagement, using entrepreneurial methods. The webinars will show you practical new ways to think about your research, provide you with new tools to articulate your research to better engage with the community, and help you to create real collaborative conversations with industry that can lead to new opportunities you may not have previously considered.

Topics covered over the two webinars include:

  • Research innovation essentials
  • Finding need and your big impact
  • Value chain and collaboration
  • Pitching for outcomes

The webinars are best suited to early career academics. You don't need to have an existing research project in mind, just an open mind for exploring new ways to have impact or engaging externally.

Following your participation in the webinars, we welcome any ANU researchers to get in touch with Innovation ANU to discuss how we may be able to support you in taking your project to that next level. Our team provides a range of support to researchers around technology transfer and industry engagement.
