In late 2015, the HDR Administrative Support Project Steering Committee agreed that the HDR Milestone process be digitialised, utilising the expertise of the Intelledox Digital Transformation Centre. (see news item 24 November 2015).
After consultation with Associate Deans HDR, and HDR students, this work has progressed to detailed eForm design, workflow, storage and reporting requirements. The new eForms reflect the new Research Awards Rule 2015, and the framework of policies, procedures and guidelines which support this Rule: http://www.anu.edu.au/students/program-administration/assessments-exams/hdr-policies-procedures.
The implementation of the eForms will streamline the end to end process, automating reminders and notifications, and automating data feeds to key systems. All compulsory Milestones, in accordance with the framework have been included in the project;
- Research Integrity Test
- First Annual Plan
- Thesis Proposal
- Annual Report and Plan
- Oral Presentation.
An additional eForm has been developed for Supplementary Reviews and can be used as determined by the College or School.
User experience testing was undertaken the week commencing 4 April, with HDR students, academic staff and administrators participating. This has provided useful feedback to improve the clarity and usability of the forms before release. Further acceptance and system testing will occur during April and May.
