The Graduate Research Office (GRO) is currently working with ANU marketing to coordinate publicity and raise awareness for HDR scholarships and research training opportunities at ANU. There will be two central scholarship rounds each year. The deadline for Round 1 will be unchanged (31 August for international and 31 October for domestic) and the deadline for Round 2 will be 15 April 2020 (for both domestic and international applicants).
The scope and terms of reference of the HDR Student Administration Forum (HDRSAF) have changed. Items raised during the forum will be in the area of HDR Administration. Any academic items should be raised to the appropriate HDR committee or Academic Delegated Authority. HDRSAF remains a network for ANU HDR administrators to improve collegiality through regular collaboration, share best practice, and foster continuous improvement.
GRO is assisting with an internal audit lead by Ernst and Young. The audit will focus on the area of risk management in the Admissions and Examinations process and the management of scholarship and prizes.
GRO and IDTC have implemented an improved thesis submission experience for HDR Candidates. Upon submission of the thesis, HDR candidates will see the text ‘Congratulations on submitting your thesis!’ and fireworks will display on the screen.
