COVID-19 parking arrangements - ANU Acton

The ANU Acton campus parking arrangements have changed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is to maintain the safety and wellbeing of administration staff and to support the ANU community across the Acton campus. The below changes are implemented from 12 August 2021.

Parking office reception

The parking office reception in the Anthony Low building is closed. Individuals can still contact the parking office Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm by email to parking@anu.edu.au.

Parking permit cancellations - including parking station and resident parking

Permit cancellation is an individual choice. If you cancel your pre-paid permit the refund will be held as part-payment of the next permit you purchase.

If you vehicle remains on campus e.g. you are a resident your permit should not be cancelled.

Payments, refunds and infringements

Permit holders who have paid for their permit in advance may cancel their permit. No retrospective refunds will be granted and it is the permit holder’s responsibility to cancel their permit. If you cancel your pre-paid permit the refund will be held as part-payment of the next permit you purchase.

There will be no refund for permits paid by payroll deduction and it is the permit holder’s responsibility to cancel their permit.

Infringement notices

Infringements are still being processed. Applications for infringement withdrawal, dispute liability and extensions of time to pay are still able to be processed through the applicable e-form or by email to parking@anu.edu.au.

Parking infringement notices are not being issued in permit zones as long as vehicles are parked legally within these zones.

Parking infringements will still apply on a limited basis for:

  • Unsafe parking areas i.e. blocking emergency access routes
  • Yellow edge lines
  • Disability bays
  • No stopping areas
  • No parking and time limited
  • Non-authorised vehicles in registration specific bladed bays
  • Areas that have a designed ‘pay and display’ machine

If you have a parking infringement notice payment that is due for payment during the shutdown period please email parking@anu.edu.au and you will be provided with payment details.

For further clarity on the above items, individuals can still contact the parking office Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm by email to parking@anu.edu.au.
