ANU to launch car sharing service

13 April 2016

The University is excited to announce that the ANU Carshare scheme, delivered by GreenShareCar, will launch in May 2016.

GreenShareCar will offer staff and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students a new sustainable transport option with vehicles available to hire for as little $11.99 per hour. Vehicles ranging from small sedan to 12 seater buses can be booked through a convenient 24/7 online booking system.

In phase one of the project, vehicles will be available to hire for staff and HDR students for both business and private bookings. The broader ANU student community will be able to access the scheme in the second phase of the project for private bookings.

Staff and HDR students will need to register via the online booking tool (available soon). To access vehicles, University ID cards need to be scanned and linked to the online booking tool. Users will be able to access a booked vehicle using keyless entry with a swipe of their University ID card.

The ANU Carshare team will be visiting various locations across campus to scan University ID cards to ensure access is available right from launch.
