A supported project is a partnership between yourself and Marketing Office which builds a marketing strategy and delivers supporting materials. There are many types of materials that might be produced as part of a project including advertising, publications and digital media.
If you are not eligible for a supported project, there are a number of self-help materials available which you can use to develop your own products. You may also want to check in with your College marketing team to see what services they provide.
Supported projects are divided into two categories: Full service and Assistance.
To request a supported project, please fill in the Marketing request form in the Contact box.
These projects must market to an external audience (such as prospective students or staff), align to ANU strategic priorities, be relevant across all of ANU.
Projects support the core of the University's overall Marketing strategy and are the basis of Marketing Office's work plan for the year. These are typically large projects planned well in advance and include things such as:
- ANU brand campaign
- Recruitment guides
- Corporate marketing
- Alumni & Philanthropy strategic marketing
- Conferring of awards
- Wayfinding strategy
- Masterbrand merchandise
These projects are accommodated around other projects when Marketing Office resources permit. When these projects cannot be accommodated by Marketing Office directly an external provider will be recommended.
Assistance projects are often more ad hoc in nature, on a smaller scale or target a large internal audience. These include things such as:
- School brochures
- Current student promotions
- Non-masterbrand merchandise
Working with an external provider
Marketing Office works with two creative agencies and a number freelance designers who are familiar with ANU style and brand guidelines and have competitive rates. If our schedule or other priorities prevent us from fulfilling your design work in the required time we will refer you to our preferred suppliers.
When working with an external provider, please send both initial and final design concepts to Marketing Office for review and approval.
Other marketing activity which does not fit into the above categories is considered self-help. This includes things such as event flyers, internal communication and reports, college/school/centre specific material, signage and materials for self-funded entities. These projects can be conducted with self-help materials available on the Services website.
