Law School - North Wing

The Law 6.1.20 is a learning space located on #6 Law School Building at North Wing. The room is equipped with wireless presentation capability, laptop input connections, Echo360 lecture capture, document camera, an ANU resident PC and microphones.

This space contains an ANU resident PC that can be used for presentations if you do not want to use your own device. This resident PC is located within the front of the lectern. You may need to access it if you wish to connect a USB storage device.
Using the touch panel, located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has booted up, the PC is presented on to the preview monitor by default, indicated by the small eye icon. To share the PC onto the main displays, select “PC”, then select “All Displays”.
You will need to log onto the PC using your ANU credentials. Use the keyboard and mouse, located on the lectern, to control this computer. You can adjust the audio level by using the slider on the right-hand side of the touch panel. Press the “Audio Mute” button to mute and unmute the audio.

This space is equipped with wireless presentation functionality, this allows you to present your device through the audio visual system wirelessly when connected to the ANU-Secure Wi-Fi.
Using the touch panel, located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has booted up, press “Wireless”. Now you will need to select if you would like to present your device on to just the preview monitor on the lectern, or all of the displays. The wireless presentation system will now display instructions on the displays you selected. Follow these instructions on how to wirelessly present your device.

This space has the ability to present a laptop or other portable device such as a tablet through the audio visual system.
Connect your device to the HDMI connection located on the lectern. If your device does not have an HDMI connection, please utilise an adapter which will need to be provided by yourself for your particular device. Alternatively, you can utilise wireless presentation.
Using the touch panel, located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already, by touching the screen. Once the system has completed booting up, select “Laptop”. If the “Laptop” button is greyed out, you will need to connect your device before proceeding. You will now need to select if you would like to present your device on to the preview monitor on the lectern, or all of the displays.
You can adjust the audio level by using the slider on the right-hand side of the touch panel. Press the “Audio Mute” button to mute and unmute the audio.

This space contains two wireless microphones that can be used as voice reinforcement for the space and voice capture for Echo360 recordings. These microphones are located in their charging dock on the lectern.
To use the lapel microphone, remove it from the charging dock and check the status light on top of the belt pack is illuminated green. If not, you will need to turn it on by pressing the red power button on the side of the device until the light illuminates.
Clip the belt pack to your belt, pocket or lanyard, then clip the microphone itself to your lapel or lanyard. For best placement, clip it between the top two buttons of your shirt or elsewhere with a similar range to your mouth.
To use the handheld microphone, remove it from the charging dock and check the status light on the bottom of the microphone is illuminated green. If not, you will need to turn it on by pressing the status light upwards until the light illuminates. Hold the microphone approximately 10cm from your mouth and hold in such a way as to not cover the head of the microphone with your hand.
Please return all wireless microphones to the charging dock when you have finished with them to ensure they are ready for the next user. The light on the charging dock will illuminate red to indicate it is charging.

This space contains a document camera located on the lectern, for presenting physical documents through the audio visual system.
Turn the document camera on by pressing the blue power button located on the base of the document camera, it will take a moment to power on. The blue light on the button will illuminate when powered on. Clear a space under the camera and place your document on the lectern. Using the touch panel located on the lectern, turn the system on, if it is not already by touching the screen. Once the system has booted up, press “Doc Camera”. Now you will need to select if you would like to present your documents on to just the preview monitor on the lectern, or all of the displays. If your document is out of focus, press the “Focus” button on the base of the document camera. You can switch the document camera light on and off using the switch on the head of the camera.

This space contains an Echo360 lecture capture system. This system allows you to capture voice when using one of the wireless microphones, source devices such as the PC or laptop and in-room activities using the ceiling-mounted camera.
The Echo360 capture device will record video content that is being presented on the front and rear displays. If you would like to record video of the space using the ceiling-mounted camera, select “Camera” on the touch panel and present it to “All Displays”.
To start a recording, select “Capture” in the top-right corner of the touch panel. You will need to enter the details of the recording including the title, your ANU ID number, including the “U” prefix, and the duration of the recording.
Press the “Start Recording” button to begin the capture. The “Capture” icon will turn red indicating a recording is in progress. To stop, pause or extend the recording, return to the capture control window by selecting “Capture” again. You can extend the recording by 10 minutes by pressing “Extend 10 min”, pause the recording by pressing the pause button or stop the recording by pressing “Stop Recording”. As you have entered your ANU ID, the recording will be located within your ANU Echo360 account.
