The Network & communications (NetComms) Voice Services team is responsible for delivering the University's networking and telecommunications applications and services to research, teaching and learning, administration and outreach functions and users of the University. The service objective is for secure, reliable, needs-driven services, independent of location.
We provide a range of telephony services that include:
- Analogue and Avaya Telephones
- Mobile device procurement, management and support
- ANU internal telephone directory service
- Call accounting
- Voicemail
- Call centre provision and management
- Emergency SMS broadcasting
- Teleconferencing (traditional telephony only, not Skype)
- Provision of accessories for desk top telephones including headsets, cordless telephones, emergency telephones, disability equipment, etc
- Call recording
- Service providers
- Dialing within and outside the university
The ANU telephone system a single Avaya PABX which is comprised of VoIP and analogue handsets across the entire Acton campus.
We also manage the following remote sites which all use Avaya as the PABX telephone system:
- Mt Stromlo
- Siding Spring Observatory
- Bateman's Bay Medical School
- Fenner Hall
- North Australian Research Unit (NARU)
- ANU House, 52 Collins Street Melbourne
