Log into Wattle (Moodle)

To login to Wattle you must be a member of the ANU community. Refer to the steps below for instructions on logging in.

Username format

  • Staff/Student University ID (u1234567)
  • Affiliate Users: Affiliate ID (a1234567)Affiliate accounts, also known as a-numbers, are handled by Wattle in the same way as staff and student accounts (u-numbers). These different numbers are referred to as a person's UniID.
  • Usernames for Wattle are case sensitive and must start with a lowercase "u" or "a". Newly created accounts and changed enrolments etc are collected by Wattle twice per day, around 7:00am and 3:00pm (it is actually 6:00am and 2:00pm, but takes a while to process).


  • Student Infocommons Campus Password (ISIS)
  • Staff/Affiliates: HORUS/ANUBIS Password

Password resets


  • On-Campus students can go to AskANU IT Consultants on Level 2 in Chifley Library and show their Student ID to have their password changed.
  • Distance, interstate and international students, phone the IT Service Desk on (+61 2) 6125 4321.

For Staff and ANU Affiliates:

  • Contact your Local IT support people to have your password changed.
  • Or contact the ITS Helpdesk at http://itservicedesk.anu.edu.au or on extension 54321, option 1.

Note:   Password changes are almost instantaneous.

Contact either your local College support team for local access issues or Wattle Support for all other issues.


Step 1

To access Wattle, go to wattlecourses.anu.edu.au

Step 2

If you have signed in to other Single Sign-on (SSO) accounts or systems, you will be brought directly to your Wattle dashboard. If you have not signed in to an SSO system, you will be brought to a Federation login page. Enter your University ID (include the u) and HORUS password to log in to Wattle. 

Step 3

You will be taken to your Wattle Dashboard page where you will see a list of all the course sites you are currently enrolled in under My Courses. 

Step 4

To enter a site, click on a course site link and you will be taken to the course homepage.
