Printing from a personal device (smart phone or tablet) via email

Register your email address

  1. Go to wirelessprinting.anu.edu.au
  2. Select ANU ID and log in using your ANU ID and password.
    OR
    Select Recharge Voucher and enter the number on your pre-paid recharge voucher (log in using a Recharge Voucher requires a PIN).

  3. Select the Send Email Attachment tab.
  4. Your ANU email - address-u1234567@anu.edu.au - will be your default Wireless Printing email. To register and send attachments from another email address, select Select, and enter the email address you want to use to wirelessly print.

    Note: Only one email address can be registered with Wireless Printing and you only need to register an email address when you want to use a new email address.

  5. Select OK.

Send attachments to print using your registered email address

  1. Open your email client-for example Outlook, Hotmail, Gmail-and open a new email window.
  2. In the To field, enter wirelessprinting@anu.edu.au
  3. To attach the document you want to print:
    1. Drag-and-drop the document in to the new email window

      OR

    2. Search for the required document/s and add them as an attachment

      Note: Email attachments cannot be larger than 25MB. If you want to print an image it must be attached to the email, not embedded in the body of the email. Embedded images are not recognised as images and will print as text.

  1. Select Send.

    Note: once sent, you can log in to the Wireless Printing website to view your print jobs in the Current Activity tab (this is optional) or to change your print settings (for example colour, double-sided). Please note there can be a slight delay between sending your email and your job appearing.

To release your print job from a Multi-Function Device (MFD)

  1. Tap your ANU ID card on sensor pad
  2. Select individual or all jobs
  3. Press Start (light goes blue on the MFD)
  4. Press Log off
