Bush Fire Crisis – Staff Support Services

Psychological Support and Resources for ANU staff during the Bush Fire Crisis

The current weather and fire conditions are very concerning. Understandably, this can provoke worry and stress for or all of us in a myriad of ways, including concerns about our own and loved ones' safety, our health and that of others, and our very future.

There are a number of resources and supports available to staff to assist them during these difficult times. Employee Assistance Program Resources (https://services.anu.edu.au/human-resources/wellbeing/employee-assistance-program) :

  • The Assure phone line is operating 24/7 on 1800 808 374
  • Face to Face counselling support is available as usual through Assure (1800 808 374) and Relationships Australia (6122 7100). Identify as ANU staff when you call and this will fast track your appointment.
  • The ANU Advisers to Staff, Gail Frank and Dr Maaria Haque, will be available each afternoon between 2pm and 4.30pm for the next two weeks to take phone calls, meet face to face with staff for short appointments or to visit individual work areas if requested.

Please feel free during these times to either:

  • Call in to our offices on the ground floor of 10A
  • Call us on 6125 3616 or 6125 8283
